Position: Wholesale Gas Trader
Responsibilities
- Gas Trading: Execute trades of natural gas in wholesale markets, buying and selling gas to optimize profit margins and ensure the most advantageous deals for our clients and the company.
- Market Analysis: Monitor and analyze market trends, price movements, and supply-demand dynamics to make well-informed trading decisions. Identify opportunities and risks in the market to stay ahead of the competition.
- Relationship Building: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with gas suppliers, pipeline operators, and other industry stakeholders. Negotiate favorable terms and contracts to secure reliable gas supply sources.
- Risk Management: Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate price fluctuations and market uncertainties. Monitor and manage the risks associated with gas trading activities.
- Contract Negotiation: Negotiate and finalize gas trading contracts with suppliers and buyers, ensuring all terms and conditions are clear and compliant with industry regulations.
- Compliance and Documentation: Ensure all gas trading activities adhere to regulatory guidelines and internal policies. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation related to trades and contracts.
- Market Research: Stay updated on industry news, global energy trends, and emerging technologies to anticipate changes in the gas market and adjust trading strategies accordingly.
Requirements
- Experience: Proven experience as a gas trader in the wholesale gas market is essential. A successful track record in executing profitable trades and managing risk is highly valued.
- Gas Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of the natural gas industry, including gas pricing mechanisms, pipeline logistics, and regional market dynamics.
- Analytical Skills: Excellent quantitative and analytical abilities, with the capacity to interpret complex data and make data-driven trading decisions.
- Negotiation Skills: Effective negotiation skills to secure favorable trading terms and build strong business relationships.
